Extreme Makeover: Church Edition
the project
The "Extreme Makeover Church Edition" is a part of the Operation Facelift project and our overall plan to revitalize and refresh the facilities and property of Church of the Living Christ. Monday, July 17 we tackled several areas on the church property; both inside and outside. The areas of renovation will include:
- Install new siding
- Enhance landscaping
- Enhance Parkinglot lighting
- Create a new lobby area
- Create a new Cafe
- Paint Sanctuary Walls and replace old blinds
There are many ways you can contribute to the "Extreme
Makeover Church Edition." Everyone can do something. Be
believe this is a team effort. We are the Body of Christ; we
cannot function properly without your help!
Here are a few ways you can help:
- Prepare to volunteer for Phase 2, Keep a close watch out for when it will begin
- Take a few days, or an afternoon to volunteer at the church.
- Sign up to help prepare the meals for the workers.
- Make a tax deductible contribution toward the Building Fund.
These are only a few ways you can help. Remember the more people we have working together the more we will accomplish!
think about what this could meanGod has blessed us with an incredible property, a debt free facility and an incredible location! Not only that, but we have a wonderful church family who has a great desire to make an impact in this community! This summer's Extreme Makeover Church Edition, could the very thing that moves us into the future God has for us... In the words of Jonathan, "Come let's go...Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few." (1 Samuel 14:6)
The first phase of the Makeover has been completed. To read the article that was run in the Ventura County Star, Click here. Thanks to Lacy Enderson for writing such a wonderful article.
Recent Mission Trips
- Costa Rica 2005- We recently returned from Costa Rica where we built two homes for two families. We raised $42,000 in total for this trip. We once again joined up with the Fusion youth group from Chicago IL. to tackle this big project. Even with the constant rain we were able to complete our task of building both homes.
- Mexico - We built 2 houses last year in Ensenada Mexico. There was also time spent ministering to the public in the park, as well as some awesome worship time.
- Jamaica 2004 - The youth group headed to Jamaica to help out with maintenance with the YWAM base, do some open air ministry, and overall grow closer to God.
